'The Blues Lady'

LEAD VOCALS

Bringing you the "Wicked Girl Blues"

“Annee's got some great attitude in her voice. Some of her inflections remind me of Janis Joplin.” – Lenny, Poughquag, New York, USA.

ANNEE’s vocal talents are often compared to Janis Joplin, Peggy Lee, Bonnie Raitt, Bonnie Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Dusty Springfield & Grace Slick.  However, her style has a uniqueness of its own, and she really enjoys adding her own personal touch to the vocals.

"All the material I choose has meaning. I do not sing to imitate anyone else."

ANNEE is an extremely versatile, distinctive vocalist. She has an uncanny ability to be able to create and command a song into her own style. ANNEE’s vocals are such that you never get tired of listening to her over a long period, as the presentation, feel and timbre changes constantly. ANNEE has the range in her voice to deliver passionately from an emotional ballad through to a powerful rock or blues song. It is very hard to limit her to one genre of music, as she successfully covers everything from blues, pop, country rock (modern) through to light rock.

"I love songs that require power and passion. I love to sing from my heart and soul and then my own uniqueness comes through."

Born and bred in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, ANNEE’s parents saw at a very young age, that she had something outstanding with her vocals and always encouraged her to sing.

ANNEE stopped singing for a number of years and then returned with added strength and charisma.  Annee worked with bands such as Kingpinz, the MissChiefs, Annee & the Bandits & Dreamboat Annie (the band took its name from Annee & the 'Heart' song).

After a few years as a vocalist working in other people’s bands, she decided to form her own band – Annee 2CU. In mid 2010, the band decided to become blues orientated and is now called Annee 2CU Blues.

Her vision for this band is to provide a highly polished, professional musical sound with matching powerful vocals. She feels  with her present line-up, she is well on her way to meeting her vision.

“Great vocalist. Inspirational voice with wonderful character.” – Steve Hubbard (Ex Human Instinct, Furies & Red House Rockers Guitarist), Auckland, NZ

She has been amazed at the reaction she has caused. She has progressed rapidly and has worked with well-known NZ blues guitarists such as Steve Hubbard & Brent Wintle.

She has recorded two songs on the Soundclick internet site – “I Cannot See To See You” & “Reflections”. Both reached number one in their genre for New Zealand. They both reached the internet site’s top thirty worldwide within a couple of weeks.

“Sounds a lot like Sass Jordan, one of my favorite female singers. Heard of her??” – Vaughn, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

"I sing songs with my own interpretation, style and touch.  I believe that any cover song I sing should not be exactly like the original."

"Annee is a classy jazz/blues lady vocalist."  -
Dave Wilkinson (Guitarist) aka Joe 90 Solo

“Singer of songs” – Adrian, Claddagh Irish Bar, Newmarket, Auckland, NZ

"Very nice, beautiful vocals young lady :)" - bluesaddict101 (USA) comment on YouTube ('Did You Ever Feel Lonely')

Annee has also provided voice-overs for video documentaries.

FAVOURITE PIECE OF ADVICE

“There will always be folks who will talk, and the better you do in the world the more bad things they will say of you...The dogs bark, but the wagons go on their way, and if you’re going someplace you haven’t time to bother with barking dogs”  - ‘War Party’ – Louis L’Amour

I Cannot See To See You
